Football Players and Their Nicknames – The ‘Lighter’ Side of Superstars

By Jigar Shah

Cristiano Ronaldo – Poster Boy

It is difficult to pick a nickname for this guy; because he's got many such names, diver, flamboyant, winker, mamma's boy etc. The best is to call him ‘Poster Boy’ of modern day football.

Eduardo – The Scapegoat

Hey, I am not a diver! Perhaps, he is still lingering!
I guess he might have asked his mom to tell him some mid-night stories after that incident. Poor Croatian learned how people make the mountain of a mole.

Carlos Ancelotti – Mr. Bond

He needs to attend few English lessons; but the man from Italy has certainly impressed English media with his suave looks. The makers of ‘Bond’ movie might consider him next time!!! Hope you are listening Mr. Daniel Craig.

Jose Mourinho – The Faff’er

The Portuguese is one of the most controversial and interesting managers in the history of English Premier League. Mr. Big mouthed likes to give debatable quotes to the media and he is one of the most obnoxious coaches around the world. English media loved him and almost mourned, a day after he left to Italy.

Now it's Italian media, and Jose Mourinho says he hates dealing with the Italian press. Guys, please give him some space, after all he is 'The Special One'
Love him, or hate him’, but you can’t ignore him!!!

Craig Bellamy – Street Fighter

Please give him a ring so that he can fight.

No more training ground or on field busts up. I guess he has a good alternative job after he gets retired from football. I hope WWE guys are watching Mr. Street Fighter!

Cecs Fabregas – Mr. Cool

The Spanish ace is cool as cucumber and a breath of  fresh air. He stays away from controversies, keeps his game clean and fights like a captain. The Gunners captain has taken his game to a next level, this season for Arsenal and Spain, and I hope he continues to get better and better.

Dirk Kuyt – The Horse

The Dutchman is one of the hardest working players in the premier league. He works hard and runs like a horse with one thing on his mind – dribble the ball through opposition's defence.

Wayne Rooney – The Beautiful Bald

The Englishman is firing all cylinders on the pitch, but he has some hairy issues. No matter what he looks like but we all love watching him, Right?

Emmanueal Adebayor – Man with a Vengeance

After his extended celebration and stamping his former team mate Robin Van Persie; one can easily say, he has a lot on his mind. No matter what he says to defend him, but he's got some arrogance on his head. Watch out buddy, before it explodes!!!

Thierry Henry – The Lumber

The Frenchmen may be a legend at the Arsenal F.C, but these days he falls pretty easily on the football pitch. May be it’s age or something has got to do with his boots. Please change your boots mister, before it make you look more clumsy.
